Literature & Culture”
This year's theme is "One Hundred Years:
Celebrating Harriette Arnow's Enduring Themes"
April 11th, 2008

Special guests and workshop leaders include
Sidney Saylor Farr, former editor of Appalachian Heritage and a former Berea College staff member,
who will read from her new memoir My Appalachia
and discuss writing & publishing;

Appalachian poet and English professor at
University of the Cumberlands, Marianne Worthington
will conduct a Poetry workshop;

Charlie Sweet & Hal Blythe, English professors at
Eastern Kentucky University will lead a Fiction workshop.

Contributors and speakers include:
Gurney Norman, contributing member of
the Appalachian Rennsaisance;
Arnow scholar Dr. Sandra Ballard,
English professor at Appalachian State University &
editor of Appalachian Journal;
Dr. Haeja Chung of Michigan State University.

Mary Owens and Linda Caldwell will present
Cafting A 10-Minute Play from 2:45 - 3:45.
